Erm, I read some of the first book, I think it was Sabriel, but I couldn't quite get into it. Don't get me wrong, I think it was quite a good book in itself, but I just found myself drifting off. I might have to read it again-it was quite early when I first tried it, after all.

I don't like book-to-film conversions. The point of a book is that you can imagine the characters and what they look like yourself. If they're in a film then someone is effectively telling you what they look like, and you have no choice but to agree. Meh, I dunno.

That is true, but when the book is put into a film effectivly it can make a greeat viewing.

I think they should be made into a film aswell. Sabriel isnt the best one tho joe, you need to read the second 2. Oh btw steph ive bought rachael the fourth in the series for her b'day, 'The creature in the case', dont know if she already told you.
